For 15 years I pushed my body to the limits as a Group Fitness Instructor.
Doing back to back high intensity group fitness classes, twice a day was not uncommon but I really didn't have the body shape that I wanted.
The more cardio I did the more body fat I kept hold of.
I wasn't able to build lean muscle mass as I was over training, my body was exhausted and I didn't give my body any recovery time.
Everyday was a battle with injuries and constant muscle soreness and fatigue.
I began to hate my job and my body shape.
In 2014 I decided I needed to change.
I started to implement better eating habits, eating more food at the rights times.
I started to do less cardio and began to lift heavy weights following a progressive overload program to build muscle.
I trained for less than 3 hours per week instead of 10-12 hours!
I gave my body time to rest, recover and grow.
My belief is that knowledge is power. By recognizing where I was going wrong and learning a better way to get what I wanted was a real turning point.
IF I can do it anyone can do it. You just have to have a powerful reason to want to change.
