I entered the 12 week challenge because I knew that it was now time to get fitter and stronger. My extensive travel regime both nationally and internationally meant long flights and ordinary food with little exercise. My father passed away 20 months ago aged 70 years from a heart attack and carried weight around his stomach. I didn’t want to be the next statistic so decided now was the time to take control of my own exercise and food intake which included a career change that was long over due and a lifestyle change. I now incorporate fitness 5-6 days per week and the correct nutritional intake into my lifestyle. I am on the road to a summer physique albeit within the next 12-24 weeks.
I have learnt that extensive continuous exercise is not always best and that the correct nutritional intake within the right metabolic window is key. This has ensured that the foods I should be eating are eaten at the right times and my new found love for all foods green (broccoli, beans etc) has sky rocketed. The fat, salt and bad carbs have been eliminated and replaced with the right type of carbs for better results. The short 20-30 minute intensive exercise program that Archie and Janine deliver is spot on and fits within a busy schedule. I have gained a new way of eating and crave the exercise when I do travel, ensuring that a 20 minute workout even if only body weight exercise is incorporated into my routine. I now eat the carbs in the metabolic window after training and ensure that my protein intake is high and 6 meals a day are constant, two of those being liquid meals of protein and berries whizzed into a smoothie.
I have gained a body shape that has changed significantly in 12 weeks and will continue for another 12-24 until it’s almost back to where it was when I was 20 years of age.

Persistence is key combined with the correct nutritional intake within the precise metabolic window. At first you may not think its working but persist and the results will follow!!
