A message to all the mums over 40 doing the Mum thing ...you are not past it!
🌟You may be bogged down with dishes in the kitchen
🌟The laundry’s piling up around your feet with no end in sight
🌟The food seems to leave the fridge faster than it went in
🌟Your in and out of the driveway 5 times a day running the kids to school, training, friends houses etc
🌟Most nights you fall asleep in your clothes with mascara caked up around your eyes
🌟And then Some days you just want to hang out in your pj’s I get it.
BUT ....you are worth doing something for yourself to make you feel sexy and fabulous again!
Being a Mum of 3, I felt so guilty and I felt a little selfish for doing something for me and not for everyone else.
❌Guilty for taking time out to exercise regularly and take care of myself.
❌Guilty for spending money on better food choices as they are far more expensive than buying junk food.
❌Guilty for spending money on myself and doing a photo shoot.
Guilt, guilt, guilt!
Posting this photo scares the the hell out of me. I’ve been holding back on posting it to be quite honest.
Right up until the day of the photoshoot I was questioning myself. I was sweating buckets over having to strip down In front of a total stranger in his home studio to have my photo taken.
Then having to post it on social media ..eeekk!!
But the fear I had over this helped me stay focused and accountable to a goal I’d set myself.
Anyone that knows me will tell you this is so far out of my comfort zone it’s not funny!
But as I approach my 47th Birthday i can honestly say I feel better now than I did in my 20’s and you can to.
It’s completely normal to fear the unknown, to step out of your comfort into something you’ve never done before.
Fear is good. It means you’ve set a goal that scares you and it should make you want to succeed.
What I have found with fear is this……
Fear can be used in either two ways.
It can be used to destroy all your hopes and dreams and stop you in your tracks.....OR it can be used to ignite them!
Take more risks ladies. Nothing great was achieved by playing it safe. Janine
